BIRMINGHAM, MI, December 19 – Griffin Claw Brewing Company has unveiled their 2019 beer release calendar featuring some new beers and additional package options.
New beers joining the seasonal lineup include a pilsner that will arrive and IDIOM Imperial Porter that drops in the fall. The Pilsner follows right behind El Ligero, a Mexican Lager with Lime which was a new release last year that became a quick seller in the summer. Griffin Claw plans to add a 12 ounce can option available in 15-packs in addition to the 4-pack 16 ounce cans to accommodate its growing popularity.
“We were pleasantly surprised with the popularity of El Ligero last year, and we actually ended up making way more of it than we planned to meet demand. We added the 12 ounce 15-packs as a more travel-friendly option for our summer beer drinkers,” said Kyle VanDeventer, Sales Director of Griffin Claw Brewing Company.
For the first time ever, Norm’s Raggedy Ass, Griffin Claw’s flagship IPA will also add 12 ounce cans, available in 12 packs. “We’re starting to see a lot of craft beer drinkers prefer 12 ounce cans, so we wanted to offer that option,” said VanDeventer.
Griffin Claw offers a host of limited release specialty batches throughout the year in small quantities that are released at their taproom in Birmingham as well as limited distribution.
“You know, variety is the spice of life, and we’re always trying to keep up with trends, keep our finger on the pulse of what the people want. And sometimes surprise them. That works too,”
says Brewmaster Dan Rogers about brewing specialties. This year’s specialty releases include bourbon barrel aged beers such as Downtown Bourbon Brown Ale, Bourbon Imperial Screamin’ Pumpkin Ale, and Bourbon Barrel Aged Flying Buffalo Imperial Stouts in addition to Bonnie’s Raggedy Ass Imperial IPA and a couple fruited specialty offerings.
Griffin Claw Brewing Company is a Michigan microbrewery established in 2013. Brewmaster Dan Rogers has been brewing professionally for 25 years, earning several Great American Beer Festival and World Beer Cup awards for the brewery.
